Yesterday, at the Council of Ontario Construction Association’s (COCA’s) Annual General Meeting, ECAO’s Executive Vice President, Eryl Roberts, was awarded the Cliff Bulmer Award.

The Cliff Bulmer Award is presented to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution in furthering the relationship between the construction industry and the Ontario Government.

Mr. Roberts was recognized for his work on Bill 69, The Prompt Payment Act which the government set aside in 2014 to launch a review of the Construction Lien Act.

This led to the creation of Prompt Payment Ontario (PPO).  PPO is an incorporated, single issue body formed specifically to pursue the passage of prompt payment legislation in the province of Ontario.

As President and official spokesperson of PPO, Eryl Roberts is leading the charge to ensure that prompt payment becomes a reality.

Mr. Roberts is honoured to receive this award and will continue to be committed to championing the cause of prompt payment and any issues affecting the electrical construction industry.
