Bill 119 Passes Second Reading - November 6, 2008
BILL 119, an Act to amend the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, 1997
PASSES SECOND
Bill 119, the proposed legislation that would make it mandatory to extend benefits and services contained in the Workplace Safety Insurance Act, 1997 (WSAI) for independent operators in construction and some other individuals in the construction industry who are currently not covered, passed Second Reading on November 6, 2008.
This proposed legislation has been referred to the Standing Committee on Social Policy. ECAO will be making an oral presentation, however, if you are interested in participating in the committee process please note the following information:

Interested people who wish to be considered to make an oral presentation on Bill 119 should contact the Committee Clerk by 12:00 noon on Friday, November 14, 2008.
Those who do not wish to make an oral presentation but wish to comment on the Bill may send written submissions to the Committee Clerk at the address below by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2008.
